Travel Adapter

New boss said that we need to churn out citizens who are like travel adapters.

    What is his point? I really wonder what his intention is by making his comments. I can think of a few bad point when he mentions that.

    He was responding to a question on the need to be more than bilingual. He was sharing with us how he's very thankful that he has ex-colleagues in his previous posts who are fluent in other Asian and non Asian languages. By speaking their languages, the foreign counterparts opened up more towards the singapore delegates.

    Of course, he stressed upon the need to increase our proficiency in CL,ML and TL considering where singapore is located. And yet here I am, still quite shameless that some senior ministers are able to speak my mother tongue better than me. Then again, he did mention other languages are important too. I didnt fe so bad then.
